Accuride Erie, L.P. confirmed the start of installation of new press equipment at the Company's aluminum wheel factory on 12th Street. Mayor Joseph E.  Sinnott is pleased to announce that the City of Erie is ready to begin accepting applications for the Lead Hazard Control (LHC) program. In the fall of 2007, the City was awarded a $3,000,000 grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development to administer this program important to the City of Erie. Lead poisoning is the number one environmental disease affecting children in the United States. Today it is estimated that 434,000 children between the ages of 1 and 5, have harmful levels of lead in their bodies. Continued...
