The City of Erie Department of Economic and Community Development is seeking proposals from qualified consulting firms to provide professional services needed to assist with the preparation of the SNOOPS Neighborhood Watch Strategic Plan for the purpose of receiving official designation from the PA Department of Community and Economic Development as an Elm Street Neighborhood. Jill Houston, Supervisor of Sarah Reed Children’s Center After School program and Dan Occasio, Sarah Reed Staff Counselor played an important part in Mayor Sinnott’s press conference on Thursday, February 21, 2008. The group announced that Sarah Reed’s after school program has teamed up with The Ere City Mission to assist with their campaign to ‘Help the Homeless’. Children involved in the after school program decorated collection boxes, which have been placed throughout the Erie area to raise awareness to the problems of homelessness and hunger here in the Erie area. The first floor lobby of City Hall houses the main exhibit, and depicts life size cutouts of children involved in the program. The public is encouraged to drop-off canned goods and other non-perishable items. Clean and gently used clothing will also be accepted. For a complete list of drop off locations click here.
